Rohith Reddy brother linked to transactions

HYDERABAD: A key development has emerged in the farm house drugs party and firing case involving former MLA Rohith Reddy. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has prima facie found that his brother, Ritesh Reddy, acted as a benami in business dealings.
SIT flags financial links between Rohith, Ritesh
Investigators said Ritesh Reddy allegedly handled suspicious financial transactions on behalf of Rohith Reddy. The SIT identified this after examining their bank accounts and related records. During questioning, the accused failed to provide satisfactory answers on these transactions.
The SIT filed a petition in court on Saturday seeking three more days of custody, stating that further questioning is required to establish facts. The court adjourned the hearing to Monday.
Police seek three more days’ custody for accused
Moinabad police arrested Rohith Reddy, Ritesh Reddy and Delhi-based businessman Namit Sharma on March 15. They were taken into custody in two phases — March 24–26 and April 1–3.
After the second custody period ended on Saturday, the accused were shifted from Shamshabad police station to Chanchalguda jail. Before being produced in court, they underwent medical tests at a hospital.
Probe focuses on drug supply and payment network
Police told the court that the accused were not cooperating during questioning on how drugs were procured, who supplied them, and how payments were made. They also did not disclose details of hotel bookings or locations visited for drug parties.
Investigators said a larger network involving multiple peddlers and organisers is suspected. They added that further custody is necessary to trace financial transactions, identify absconding accused, and establish links in the drug supply chain.
20 days in judicial remand
The case relates to a weekend party held on March 14 at Rohith Reddy’s farmhouse in Aziznagar, Moinabad. During a raid, firing incidents were reported, following which the accused were remanded under attempt to murder charges.
The three accused have been in judicial remand since March 16. While police have sought extended custody, defence lawyers have filed bail petitions. The court is expected to hear both custody and bail pleas on Monday.
