Medchal: Two women critically injured after being run over by concrete mixer truck

Hyderabad: Two women were critically injured in a horrific road accident on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Monday. A speeding ready-mix concrete truck ran over two women who were waiting for a bus within the Medchal-Shamirpet police limits.
The victims have been identified as Gayatri and Bhavani from Anthayipalli village. Local residents and police immediately rushed them to a nearby hospital, however, their condition remains critical. Following the accident, enraged locals staged a protest on the road and demanded action against the truck driver.
In another incident, a man set himself afire after an altercation with his wife over some issue late on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Sravan.
According to reports, there was some marital discord between the couple. On Sunday evening, he went to a clothing store at Patny in Secunderabad where his wife works and started arguing with her.
Even as people tried to understand what was happening, Shravan took out a bottle of petrol and poured it on himself and then lit a matchstick and set himself ablaze.
The security personnel at the store put out the fire and locals rushed him to Gandhi Hospital where he is undergoing treatment for burns. The police reached the spot and gathered details from the victimโs wife and other people. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
