RGI Airport to Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In a move to improve infrastructure, the Telangana police have announced traffic diversions in the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Police Station limits, Shamshabad. The Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) Airport to Hyderabad approach road at the Kishanguda ramp will be closed entirely for the next 45 days, beginning August 3, 2024.

This closure is necessitated by the ongoing construction of a six-lane main carriageway, complete with service roads and drains, stretching from KM 9/900 to KM 19/948. Additionally, a 7-meter-wide exit ramp is being built to connect airport traffic to the elevated corridor at Shamshabad.

To accommodate this work, traffic heading towards Hyderabad from the RGI Airport will be diverted towards the Bangalore exit and then required to take a U-turn at the Trauma Centre on NH-44. Motorists traveling from Hyderabad to the RGI Airport will not be affected and can continue their journey as usual.

The police have urged commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and expect delays during this period.
