Why Revanth Reddy Told Congress Leaders to Stay Away from Gandhi Bhavan Until August 3
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday asked Congress leaders to stay away from Gandhi Bhavan until August 3 and focus fully on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive.
He said the party should use the extended deadline to reach more voters and help them complete the SIR process.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, AICC Telangana affairs in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, AICC secretary Sachin Sawant, ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, constituency in-charges and SIR coordinators joined the Zoom meeting.
Ministers told to lead the campaign
Revanth Reddy asked in-charge ministers to monitor the SIR drive in their districts. He also announced a review meeting on July 30 to check the progress in every Assembly constituency.
Several leaders have not spent enough time in the field, he said. Instead of visiting Gandhi Bhavan, they should work in their constituencies until August 3.
Inactive leaders will not get nominated posts, including corporation chairperson posts, he warned.
MPs and local leaders get strict warning
The Chief Minister warned MPs serving as constituency in-charges to take their role seriously. They must continue SIR review meetings while attending the Parliament session.
He said the party has already held 489 SIR meetings across all 119 Assembly constituencies. Leaders should speed up work in areas where progress is slow.
Focus on BLA reports
The Chief Minister asked MLAs, constituency in-charges and corporation chairpersons to check reports submitted by Booth Level Agents (BLAs). He told them not to depend only on Booth Level Officer (BLO) reports.
He warned that leaders who ignore BLA reports will face action. Ministers, MLAs and other leaders must visit their assigned Assembly constituencies over the next 10 days.
The Gandhi Bhavan team will keep tracking reports from both BLAs and BLOs throughout the campaign.
Top performers to meet Rahul Gandhi
To encourage better work, Revanth Reddy announced a reward for the best-performing BLAs. The top 100 Booth Level Agents will get a chance to meet Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and take a photograph with him.
