Revanth Reddy orders completion of new Osmania Hospital in two years

HYDERABAD: At a review meeting held at his residence on Wednesday, Revanth Reddy instructed officials to accelerate work on the project and ensure the hospital is equipped with modern medical facilities to meet healthcare needs for the next 100 years.
He asked engineers to design rooms, laboratories and other structures to accommodate advanced equipment. The Chief Minister also ordered that roads around the hospital be developed simultaneously to minimise inconvenience to locals.
Regular inspections to monitor progress
Revanth Reddy directed the formation of a coordination committee comprising officials from the health, police, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), roads and buildings (R&B), and electricity departments to oversee the project.
The committee will visit the site regularly, review progress every 10 days, and resolve any issues to ensure timely completion.
Plans for traffic, access and security
The Chief Minister asked senior police officials to prepare traffic and security management plans in advance. He also instructed R&B authorities to design connecting roads to the new facility.
Revanth Reddy further ordered the appointment of a supervising officer for each hospital and medical college under construction across the state. Each officer will monitor work round the clock and ensure completion by June next year.
Principal secretaries V Sheshadri and Srinivas Raju, CM’s secretary Manicka Raj, Director General of Police Shivdhar Reddy, and senior officials Vikas Raj, Christina Z Chongthu, Dr. M Ilambarathi, Musharraf Ali Farooqui and Harichandana attended the meeting.
