HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday announced that the state will scrap Class 10 public examinations from the next academic year as part of a new education policy.

He said the government is working on a uniform education system from nursery to Class 12, aimed at structural reforms in the education framework.

Uniform system to replace existing exam structure

The Chief Minister said the new policy will introduce a streamlined academic structure, removing the need for Class 10 board examinations.

He added that the reforms are part of a broader effort to strengthen the education system and ensure continuity in learning outcomes.

Phone tapping case to proceed under legal framework

On the phone tapping case, Revanth Reddy said the investigation will continue as per law, with no action driven by vendetta.

“We cannot file cases against anyone without inquiry. Statements have been recorded based on information from Prabhakar Rao. It is not appropriate for me to review while the investigation is ongoing,” he said.

Responding to remarks on former minister Harish Rao, the Chief Minister said no clean chit has been given in the case. “Relief was granted only in the Chakradhar Goud case. There is no relief in the Special Investigation Team probe. People are being misled,” he added.

Cabinet expansion speculation dismissed by Chief Minister

Revanth Reddy dismissed speculation over cabinet expansion, stating that his visits to Delhi are not linked to any such exercise.

On the nomination of Mohammad Azharuddin as Member of Legislative Council, he said the matter is pending and the Supreme Court has advised resolving it with the Governor.

Musi river rejuvenation termed a historical necessity

The Chief Minister said the Musi river rejuvenation project will continue despite challenges. He assured that justice will be done to those affected.

“A river must be preserved where it exists. It cannot be recreated elsewhere,” he said.

Criticism of previous regime and policy clarifications

Criticising the Bharat Rashtra Samithi government, he said the current administration is servicing debts incurred over the past decade.

“They must take responsibility for their mistakes,” he said.

On the Formula E race case, he said the Centre has granted permission and senior official Arvind Kumar has been suspended. He added that police should file a charge sheet.

Addressing allegations related to the health policy, he said corruption claims are baseless. “Even if that land is sold, it will not fetch ₹1 lakh crore. We are ready for any inquiry,” he said.

Welfare schemes and party matters addressed

The Chief Minister said the government will decide the timeline for implementing its six guarantees.

On the Indiramma family insurance scheme, he said it will cover all ration card holders.

He added that issues related to Jeevan Reddy will be handled by Pradesh Congress Committee chief Mahesh Goud and in-charge Meenakshi.

“Mahatma Gandhi does not belong to anyone. We are accountable to the people,” he said.
