Revanth Reddy Slams Union Budget

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy laments that the union budget appears only for Andhra Pradesh and Bihar states. Reddy called for protest in the Parliament for the discrimination met by Telangana. He further called for the support of all the MPs from the state to protest.

Speaking to media Anumula Revanth Reddy, “This budget is not for ‘Viksit Bharat’ but for ‘Kurchi bachao’( to consolidate his PM seat) budget. I have met the Prime Minister(PM) Narendra Modi thrice and met many union ministers and requested them to allocate funds for the development of Telangana state but they denied”.

Reacting to the discrimination shown towards Telangana, Anumula Revanth Reddy said, “As a part of AP reorganization Act they gave funds to Andhra Pradeshm but we are not asking why did they give funds only to Andhra pradesh but we are reiterating that Telangana is also part of AP reorganization Act and justice should be done to Telangana also. Development of Bayyaram steel plant, establishing Kazipet coach factory, Palamuru Rangareddy lift irrigation project are also part of AP Reorganization Act. Ironically they denied funds to Palamuru Rangareddy project and assured financing and early completion of the Polavaram Irrigation Project.”

On denying IIMs and funds for Telangana projects

Reddy further added, “Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan three days back wrote a letter to me, denying the establishment of IIM in Telangana state. I personally requested the PM for IIM and Modi forwarded it to the concerned minister and now I got the response of denial”.

Telangana BJP Chief and Union Minister of Coals and Mines, G Kishan Reddy had to take responsibility for discrimination met by Telangana in the union budget. He should raise voice for the Telangana people and immediately resign from the union minister post.

Demands MPs’ Support in Parliament
Reddy called for protest in the Parliament for the discrimination met by Telangana. He further called for the support of all the MPs from the state to protest. He said, “I am directing all the Congress MPs from Telangana to raise their protest in parliaments and also requesting support from all the BJP MP from Telangana and AIMIM MP as well.”

Reddy demands for reallocation of budget and funds for the expansion of metro, Musi development, development of Bayarama steel plant, establishing Kazipet coach factory, Palamuru Rangareddy lift irrigation project.

It is pertinent to note that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the seventh consecutive Union Budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Earlier Bharat Rashtra Samithi(BRS) working president KT Rama Rao also expressed disappointment over the lack of allocations for Telangana in the Union Budget.
