Revanth Reddy announces ₹3,590 crore farm relief

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday announced the release of ₹3,590 crore in the first phase of assistance under the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
Nearly 70 lakh farmers are set to benefit from the initial disbursal. The state has earmarked ₹9,000 crore to support cultivation across 1.5 crore acres.
Addressing a public meeting in Siddipet district, the Chief Minister said, “A nation where farmers suffer can never prosper. Despite challenges, we have not halted any welfare scheme for farmers.”

He added that the government is committed to ensuring remunerative prices for crops and improving farmers’ incomes.
Officials said the remaining ₹5,400 crore under the scheme will be released in two phases over the next 40 days. The government is currently spending ₹5,500 crore every month on farmer welfare, up from ₹2,533 crore during the previous regime.
