Revanth Reddy orders immediate closure of all check posts in Telangana
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Wednesday directed officials to close all transport check posts across Telangana with immediate effect.
Following his instructions, the State Transport Department issued orders to implement the decision and sought a full report on the closure by 5 pm.
The Transport Commissioner ordered the immediate suspension of all check post activities and redeployment of the staff for other official work.
District Transport Officers (DTOs) were instructed to remove signboards and barricades at the check posts to ensure the smooth movement of vehicles. All records, files, furniture and equipment from the posts will be shifted to the respective DTO offices.
Officials were also told to verify and preserve all financial and administrative documents during the transition.
