Earlier today, Sridhar Babu introduced the Telangana Skill University bill in the assembly. He said ” This will create a perfect ecosystem for attracting investments from industries and thereby create employment for these students. The highlight of the University is that 50% of the courses will include practical components and incorporate industrial apprenticeship in this. This bill reinforces our government’s commitment towards the youth of Telangana.”
Net Zero City in Kandukur
In addition to the Skill University, Telangana government is planning to develop an eco-friendly and innovative ‘Net Zero City’ on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited the proposed site in Meerkhanpet on Sunday. Meerkhanpet is located near Kandukur in Ranga Reddy district and around 20 KM from Outer Ring Road.
The Net Zero City project, part of the state’s broader urban development strategy, will transform the region into a global model of eco-friendly living. The government plans to utilize land previously acquired for the Pharma City project to develop this city. The project aligns with global efforts to combat climate change, with cities like New York and Melbourne also working towards becoming Net Zero Cities. The development is expected to drive up land prices in the surrounding Kandukur area, further boosting economic growth.
Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka and IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu, cabinet speaker Prasad Kumar and others also attended the foundation laying event.
