Revanth Reddy ensures maximum compensation to citizens losing land for roads

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy conducted a comprehensive review of national highway projects at the Secretariat today.
He emphasized the importance of considering the humanitarian aspect when deciding on compensation for those affected by land acquisition. He urged officials to ensure the compensation is at its maximum since people are losing their lands permanently.
He assessed the current status of these projects across the state and inquired about specific details regarding the same from officials. The review included progress on land acquisition for the Regional Ring Road and the Mancherial-Warangal-Khammam-Vijayawada Corridor. Revanth Reddy instructed district collectors to submit complete details and proposals by the end of the month.
Emphasis on resolving construction issues promptly
The Chief Minister directed immediate action on various issues hindering national highway construction. He responded promptly to concerns raised by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officials and arranged a high-level meeting to address progress and challenges. Reddy also held a video conference with collectors from several districts involved in highway construction to gather detailed information.
Revanth Reddy stressed the need for prompt resolution of any problems faced in the construction of national highways. He instructed officials to provide weekly reports on the proposed national highways and their progress. The Chief Minister asked officials to include the prestigious Regional Ring Road under the Bharatmala Pariyojana scheme. He further highlighted Regional Ring Road’s significance for a vibrant Telangana.

During the review meeting, Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, NHAI Projects Member Anil Chaudhary, and Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari participated. Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao joined via video conference. Reddy assured complete government cooperation in overcoming obstacles in highway construction, reinforcing the state’s commitment to infrastructure development.
Earlier on Yesterday, Revanth Reddy called for a high level meeting to discuss the issues raised and raising regarding the land acquisition and other related challenges in the construction of national highways.
