Revanth Reddy reviewing CSR fund utilisation with officials in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed concern over companies operating in Telangana spending Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds in other states.

State seeks higher CSR allocation from local companies

He said the state must receive a larger share of CSR funds and directed officials to ensure that corporate firms and industries based in Telangana spend more within the state.

He also asked officials to study policies adopted by other states to mobilise CSR funds effectively.

CSR share remains low at three per cent

At a review meeting held in his chamber at the Legislative Council on Thursday, the Chief Minister said, “Frame a new policy to attract corporate institutions and ensure efficient utilisation of CSR funds. As per national statistics, the state’s share in such donations is only three per cent.”

He added that the funds received so far have not met expectations.

Portal and dedicated CSR cell to be set up

The Chief Minister directed officials to recognise companies undertaking development and public welfare programmes through CSR funds during state formation day celebrations.

He also instructed the establishment of a state-level CSR cell and a dedicated office. The cell will coordinate details of ongoing and potential CSR projects and available opportunities across government departments.

A Telangana CSR portal will be developed to act as a bridge between the government and corporate firms. It will provide comprehensive project details to help companies identify suitable initiatives and engage with the government.

Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and other officials attended the review meeting.
