HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announces Congress’s favorable results in the parliamentary elections. He credits Rahul Gandhi for uniting democrats nationwide through the Bharat Jodo Yatra. In the 2023 legislative assembly elections, Congress secured 39.5% of the votes. Within 100 days, they implemented five guarantees and framed the parliamentary election as a referendum on their governance.

Congress celebrates election success

Congress won 8 out of 17 parliamentary seats, receiving 41% of the votes. This marks an increase from the 39.5% in the assembly elections. Reddy claims the results show public satisfaction with their governance. Additionally, Congress won the Secunderabad Cantonment by-election, gaining an extra seat.

Reddy highlights that the BJP won 4 seats in 2019 and increased to 8 in this election. The Congress’s vote percentage rose from 20% in the assembly elections to 35% in this election. He accuses BRS leaders of sacrificing and donating organs to ensure BJP’s victory. In the parliamentary election, Harish Rao allegedly transferred votes to BJP in Siddipet and Medak, leading to BRS losing deposits in 7 seats.

Revanth Reddy’s criticism on KCR, KTR, and Harish Rao

BRS’s vote percentage fell from 37.5% in the assembly elections to 16.5% in this election, while BJP’s votes increased from 13% in 2023 to 35.5%. Reddy criticizes KCR, KTR, and Harish for supporting BJP and claims BRS engaged in political anarchy by transferring votes. He urges BRS to change their approach and warns that continuing their tactics would lead to oblivion.

Reddy states that BJP leaders campaigned with Modi’s guarantee but fell from 303 seats to 243. He claims the people rejected Modi and demands his resignation. He emphasizes Congress’s commitment to working harder and resolving issues in Andhra Pradesh, including the promise of special status.

Revanth Reddy concludes by taking full responsibility for the state’s victories and defeats, likening the results to Ugadi pachadi, symbolizing life’s various experiences. He calls for BRS MLAs to act according to their conscience and criticizes KCR for political conspiracies.
