Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination rejection: ‘We will fight for justice,’ says Revanth Reddy
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday condemned the rejection of Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination in Madhya Pradesh, alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was behind the development.
In a statement, Revanth Reddy described the incident as a conspiracy and accused the BJP of undermining democratic processes.
“I condemn this conspiracy by the BJP in Madhya Pradesh which resulted in the rejection of Ms Meenakshi Natarajan’s Rajya Sabha nomination. After Vote Chori and SIR, they are now resorting to Seat Chori,” he said.
Calling the development an attack on democratic values, the Chief Minister said the rejection of the nomination amounted to an assault on democracy.
“This is assault on democracy. The people’s voices are being stifled. This is a dark day for Indian democracy. This needs to be condemned by all citizens,” he said.
Revanth Reddy also said that efforts would continue to seek justice in the matter.
“We will fight for justice,” he added.
