Revanth Reddy orders CID probe into mining

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Friday said the government will order a Crime Investigation Department (CID) probe into alleged illegalities in mining during the previous regime.

He said irregularities took place when Harish Rao and K T Rama Rao served as mining ministers. The chief minister alleged that Harish Rao’s brother was involved in illegal mining and sand extraction.

Probe to cover sand mining activities

Revanth Reddy said the inquiry will also examine sand mining operations linked to Santosh Kumar and his father in Nerella. He added that several allegations exist regarding illegal sand extraction during the previous government’s tenure.

Focus on firms linked to allegations

The chief minister said the CID probe will also cover Raghava Constructions. He announced the decision in the Assembly, stating that all allegations related to mining will be investigated.
