Republic Day: Drone, paraglider flights banned over parts of Secunderabad

SECUNDERABAD: The Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate has imposed a temporary ban on flying remotely controlled drones, para-gliders and micro-light aircraft over parts of Secunderabad on January 26, 2026, citing security arrangements for Republic Day celebrations.
In a notification issued on January 22, 2026, deputy commissioner of police Ch. Sridhar said the restrictions were necessary to prevent danger to life and ensure public safety during the celebrations at Parade Grounds.
The order, issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, bars all such aerial activities between 06.00 IST and 15.00 IST within the limits of Begumpet police station, Market police station and Maredpally police station under the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate.
Police warned that any violation of the order would invite action under relevant sections of law.
As the notice could not be served individually, the order has been issued ex parte and will be publicised through the press and displayed on notice boards at police stations and offices of divisional assistant commissioners of police and zonal deputy commissioners of police.
