Relative Targets Family At Knifepoint In Rajendranagar Dacoity, Six Arrested

Hyderabad: The Rajendranagar Police, in coordination with the Central Crime Station (CCS), have solved a daylight dacoity reported on April 21 in P&T Colony, Suncity, under the limits of Gandipet. Six persons have been arrested in connection with the crime.

According to the police, the incident took place around 9:22 a.m. when four unidentified men knocked on the door of Mohammed Shakir Ali’s residence. Once the door was opened, they forced their way in and held Shakir and his wife at knifepoint. The accused broke open an almirah inside the house and made away with gold and silver ornaments, cash, and two mobile phones.

During the investigation, it came to light that Jibran Bin Jaber, a relative of the complainant, was the key conspirator. Having prior knowledge of the valuables in the house, he planned the dacoity and involved five others. He arranged the weapons and provided a getaway vehicle to carry out the offence.

The arrested have been identified as Jibran Bin Jaber, a driver from Mailardevpally; Mohammed Aqeel, a furniture worker from Karwan; Mohammed Fasiuddin, a carpenter from Humayunnagar; Sohail Shah Khan, a driver from Vattepally; Mohammed Abdul Rub Javeed, a driver from Saifiy Colony; and Mohammed Shabbir, a chef from Kalapathar. All six were taken into custody within four days of the crime.

Police registered the case under Sections 310(2) and 311 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Rajendranagar Police Station. The investigation led to the recovery of two knives used during the offence, two Redmi mobile phones stolen from the complainant, a white Swift Dzire car used in the escape, and the looted gold and silver ornaments.

In the wake of the incident, police have issued an advisory urging citizens not to share personal or financial information with casual acquaintances or extended relatives. They have also advised residents to avoid storing large amounts of cash or valuables at home and to ensure that CCTV systems in and around their homes are functional and regularly monitored.
