Hyderabad police conduct cordon and search operation in Reinbazar area

HYDERABAD: Police conducted a large-scale cordon and search operation in the limits of Reinbazar police station on February 11, 2026, under the supervision of Kiran Khare Prabhakar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Charminar Zone.

The drive aimed to check illegal activities and strengthen public safety in the area.

The operation was led by the Additional DCP and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), along with Ch Nethaji, Station House Officer (SHO) of Reinbazar police station. Armed police personnel assisted in the exercise.

37 two-wheelers seized for number plate violations

Police seized 37 two-wheelers for being operated without number plates or with improper or tampered number plates.

Officials said such violations hamper identification and are often linked to unlawful activities.

Six rowdy sheeters picked up for verification

Six rowdy sheeters Syed Ali, Habeeb Sikander, Talib Khan, Jaffar Ali, Ali Hussain and Syeeduddin — were identified and picked up. Police verified their current activities during the operation.

Nine persons listed under suspect sheets Khaled, Sameer, Aziz Baba, Hyder Ahmed, Ibrahim, Ibrahim Khan, Syed Ali, Shaik Mohammed and Azhar were also identified and their details were verified.

Knives, ganja and gas cylinders seized

Police seized three dangerous knives and one hukka set during the drive.

Five packets of illegal cannabis (ganja) were recovered. Three small gas cylinders being used or stored illegally were also seized.

Kiran Khare Prabhakar said such operations would continue to maintain law and order and instil a sense of security among residents of the Charminar Zone.

The operation was conducted within the jurisdiction of Reinbazar police station in Hyderabad city.
