Rashmika Mandanna wins Best Actress for ‘The Girlfriend’ at Gaddar Awards, shares gratitude note
HYDERABAD: Actor Rashmika Mandanna has won the Best Actress award for her performance in The Girlfriend at the Gaddar Awards, describing the recognition as “extremely special” and a significant milestone in her career.
In a note shared after the award ceremony, Mandanna reflected on her journey from admiring state-level achievers in her early years to receiving the honour herself. “When I was young and someone had become a state-level winner, I would look at them as superstars… last evening getting a state award was something extremely special to me,” she said.

She added that the recognition brought “a sense of pride, happiness and satisfaction,” noting that she has “come a long way”.
Mandanna also said that receiving the award in Telangana made it more meaningful. “This year has started on such a beautiful note and being welcomed into Telangana with a state award is all the way more special,” she said, thanking the organisers.
Credits team, calls award ‘just the start’ of journey
The actor expressed gratitude to the Sri Kala Sudha Telugu Association and the film’s director Rahul for shaping The Girlfriend. She also acknowledged her co-actors, including Dheekshith and Anu Emmanuel.
“I keep saying… this is just the start,” she said, indicating her focus on future work.
