Rangareddy tops Telangana per capita income rankings

HYDERABAD: Sharp disparities mark per capita income across Telangana districts, with Rangareddy leading and Hanumakonda at the bottom, according to official data.

Mahabubnagar, once known for migration, stands sixth with ₹3,36,898, marking a significant shift in its economic position.
At the lower end, Hanumakonda records the lowest per capita income at ₹2,37,809. Vikarabad and Jagtial also figure among the bottom three districts.
Wide income gaps across districts persist
Several districts, including Medchal-Malkajgiri (₹3,94,587) and Bhadradri Kothagudem (₹3,81,506), fall in the mid-range. Others such as Nalgonda (₹3,30,216), Medak (₹3,29,209) and Peddapalli (₹3,27,477) show moderate figures.
Districts like Adilabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Khammam and Warangal record incomes below ₹3 lakh, reflecting uneven regional development.
State outperforms national average income levels
Despite disparities, all 33 districts in Telangana report per capita incomes above the national average.
The state’s per capita income stands at ₹4,18,931 for 2025–26, compared to the national average of ₹2,19,575. The Telangana Social Development Report 2026 states that the state’s income growth rate is 10.2%.
