RANGAREDDY: Four students of ICFAI University were killed and another seriously injured in a high-speed car crash near Mokila in Rangareddy district late on Saturday night.
Car hits divider, slams into tree
Police said the sports car first hit the road divider near Mirzaguda, close to Chevella, before crashing into a roadside tree. The impact was severe, leaving the vehicle mangled.
One student hospitalised
Four students died on the spot, while another sustained serious injuries and was shifted to a hospital. The injured student’s condition is stated to be critical.
Victims identified
The deceased were identified as Suryateja, Nikhil, Sumith and Rohith, all students of ICFAI University. Police said preliminary findings point to overspeeding as the cause of the accident.
An inquiry is under way.
