HYDERABAD: The commissioner of Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA), A V Ranganath, has directed officials to install fencing around lakes to prevent dumping of soil and protect buffer and Full Tank Level (FTL) areas.

Field inspections after public complaints

Acting on public representations, the commissioner conducted field inspections on Saturday. At Mella Cheruvu in Tellapur, residents showed soil dumped within the FTL limits. Ranganath ordered Raju Yadav to remove the dumped earth immediately.

Gandipet violations; 48-hour warning

At Gandipet Lake, on the Himayat Nagar village side, the commissioner took serious note of soil filling and directed Dr Khursheed to clear the material at once. He warned of action if the removal was not completed within 48 hours.

Nala and park encroachments checked

The commissioner later inspected encroachments along the Bulkakapoor nala in the Manikonda area and illegal occupations of parks along Jubilee Hills Road Nos. 32 and 33. He ordered removal of unauthorised structures built by nearby residents, including constructions labelled as watchman quarters and cattle sheds. Gates opened into parks from adjoining residences were directed to be closed. Officials were asked to create a main public entrance to ensure unrestricted access for all residents.
