Rana Daggubati, Vishnu Priya face CID SIT in betting apps probe
HYDERABAD: Actor Rana Daggubati and anchor Vishnu Priya appeared before the Crime Investigation Department’s Special Investigation Team on Saturday in connection with the betting apps promotion case.
Officials question two separately on app promotions
Investigators questioned the two separately on the promotional activities they had undertaken for the betting applications. The state government set up the SIT under the CID to probe the operations of betting apps in Telangana.
A case was registered a few months ago against several celebrities who promoted these apps. The SIT has already questioned actor Prakash Raj and others in the same case.
Rana says legal team reviewed app before promotions
After completing his questioning, Rana told reporters that he agreed to promote the app only after being informed that it was legal. He said his legal team had examined all related documents before he signed the deal. He added that he shared all relevant material with CID officials during the inquiry.
Vishnu Priya also questioned
Vishnu Priya also appeared before the SIT on Saturday as part of the ongoing inquiry into celebrity endorsements of betting apps.
