Rammohan Naidu flags airports in Adilabad, Nagarjuna Sagar

Telangana : Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu said the UDAN 2.0 scheme, approved by the Union Cabinet under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will benefit Telugu states.
He said the scheme allows development of existing airstrips into airports. This could enable construction of new airports in Adilabad in Telangana and Nagarjuna Sagar in Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu said the scheme could also help start flight services from Kurnool and Kadapa airports to Delhi and other cities.
He was speaking to reporters at his residence on Saturday night on the sidelines of the inauguration of Noida International Airport near Delhi.
Mamnoor under review; defence land not to be taken
Naidu said the Centre will not take over the Air Force airstrip in Adilabad, which is under the Ministry of Defence. “We will acquire remaining land and build an airport there,” he said.
He added there is no objection to granting permission for a traffic tunnel under the runway of Begumpet Airport, subject to necessary clearances.
