Ramchander Rao urges to revise Rajiv Rahadari Project compensation

Rajiv Rahadari Project Compensation

HYDERABAD: BJP State President N. Ramchander Rao wrote to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, asking the government to provide fair and enhanced compensation to landowners and business proprietors in Karkhana. Currently, their properties are being acquired for the proposed elevated corridor on Rajiv Rahadari.

In his letter, Ramchander Rao said that affected residents have been cooperating with the authorities and have not opposed the project. However, he stressed that the compensation should reflect the prevailing market value of their properties.

Furthermore, he pointed out that families and business owners are losing their homes, shops, and ways to earn a living for this public project. He said they deserve fair and equal compensation for what they lose.

Additionally, he requested the State Government to revise the compensation package for affected property owners in Karkhana to match that provided to those in Thumkunta, where compensation was reportedly ten times the actual property value.

Moreover, Rao urged the government to conduct a property-wise reassessment based on current market value and to finalize revised compensation in consultation with affected residents before taking possession of their properties. He said this approach would promote fairness, respect for stakeholders, and ensure the project proceeds smoothly. Rao expressed hope for prompt government action.

This letter comes amid growing concern among property owners in Karkhana about inadequate compensation. They held a hunger strike on August 11 to protest what they perceive as the government’s neglect of their rights.
