Ramayampet Police Crack Jewellery Theft Within 12 Hours

Telangana: Police arrested two women accused of stealing gold jewellery from a bus and solved the case within 12 hours.
Ramayampet Circle Inspector Syeda disclosed the details at the Ramayampet police station in Medak district on Thursday.
Devalakshmi, a resident of Mallareddipet in Gambhiraopet mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district, had visited her daughter at Akkannapet in Ramayampet mandal. While returning home, she boarded an Armur depot bus from the Ramayampet bus stand to travel to Kamareddy.
During the journey, gold jewellery weighing about four-and-a-half tolas was stolen from her bag. She immediately lodged a complaint with Ramayampet police, who registered a case.
Accused intercepted on way to Secunderabad
Using CCTV footage, police identified the accused as Shweta Kale of Bharat Nagar in Kalaburagi (Gulbarga), Karnataka, and Shilpa Velu of Pune, Maharashtra.
Police found that the women travelled to Medak after the theft and later boarded a Bodhan depot bus to Secunderabad. Acting on CCTV-based leads, police alerted the bus conductor, who diverted the bus to the Boinpally police station.
The two women were taken into custody and the stolen jewellery was recovered. They were later brought to Ramayampet and remanded to judicial custody.
Police team, conductor commended
CI Syeda congratulated Sub-Inspectors Balraju and Naresh, Head Constable Suryaprakash, Constable Bhaskar and the bus conductor for helping solve the case.
The CI said the accused were previously involved in cases registered at Sangareddy, Zaheerabad, Jogipet and Sadashivpet police stations.
