Telangana govt invites applications for Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme, registrations begin tomorrow

Hyderabad: With an objective to empower marginalised communities, the Telangana government has launched ‘Rajiv Yuva Vikasam’ scheme. The initiative provides employment opportunities to unemployed youth from SC, ST, BC and minority communities.
Under the ‘Rajiv Yuva Vikasam’ scheme, eligible youth from these communities can avail of a loan for self-employment. They can apply for a loan from March 17 to April 5, 2025. Each beneficiary can receive up to Rs. 3 lakh. A total of five lakh unemployed youth are expected to benefit from this self-employment scheme which will add a Rs. 6,000 crore burden on the public exchequer.
Interested and eligible candidates belonging to Backward Class communities have been urged to register their applications online on OBMMS portal https://tgobmmsnew.cgg.gov.in, TG BC Cooperative Finance Corporation Ltd. said in a press release.
The applications will be reviewed by the officials of the respective corporations and the selection process will be completed by May 31, 2025. The government will distribute the sanction letters among the selected beneficiaries on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day which is observed on June 2.
Deputy chief minister and finance minister Bhatti Vikramarka said that the objective of Rajiv Yuva Vikasam is to help the unemployed youth achieve economic stability.
“The Congress govt is determined to provide opportunities for the youth, ensuring that unemployed individuals have the resources to build their careers,” Bhatti Vikramarka told reporters on Tuesday.
Accusing the previous BRS regime of ignoring SC, ST, BC and minority corporations, Vikramarka said the Congress government is committed to address the unemployment issue and therefore, the Revanth Reddy-led government has been prioritising employment to empower young people ever since it assumed office in December 2023.
