Rajendranagar Police Bust Interstate MDMA and Ganja Network; Six Held

HYDERABAD:Â In a coordinated operation, the Rajendranagar Police, along with the Special Operations Teams (SOT) of Rajendranagar and Madhapur zones, dismantled an interstate drug supply network engaged in trafficking MDMA and ganja.
Based on credible intelligence, police intercepted a group of suspects near Aramghar X Road, Rajendranagar, on November 6, 2025. The accused were allegedly transporting contraband from Bengaluru to Hyderabad. Further interrogation led to the arrest of three consumers at HP Petrol Pump, near Pillar No. 295, Rajendranagar.
Accused and Background
The suppliers were identified as Sangadi Santosh, 26, of Jagannadhapuram, Kakinada (previously booked in Crime No. 260/2021 under Section 8(C) read with 20(b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act by Vaddadimadugula police, Andhra Pradesh); Gandhi Sandeep, 23, of Electronic City, Bengaluru; and Kandepalli Shiva Kumar, 23, of Bommuru, Rajahmundry. Police said the key supplier remains absconding.
Consumers arrested include Palaka Sai Babu, 25, an IT employee from Rajahmundry; Kotha Vishal Reddy, 28, a private employee from Khajaguda, Hyderabad; and Plishetty Sameer, 24, a photographer from KPHB, Hyderabad.
Modus Operandi
Investigations revealed that the accused had contacted an unidentified supplier on Instagram who coordinated interstate narcotics deliveries. The trio procured 17 grams of MDMA and 150 grams of ganja from Bengaluru, concealing them in travel bags. Acting on information, the police apprehended the suspects at Aramghar X Road and subsequently arrested three consumers based on their confession.
All six accused were remanded to judicial custody. Efforts are underway to track the absconding source, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rajendranagar Zone) Yogesh Goutam, IPS.
Seized Property
Police seized 17 grams of MDMA, 150 grams of ganja, five mobile phones, and ₹9,700 in cash. Officials commended the prompt coordination of Rajendranagar Police Station staff, SOT Rajendranagar, and SOT Madhapur for their role in the operation.
