Telangana: An AI-generated image showing a tiger inside a petrol bunk in Tangallapalli mandal triggered panic across Rajanna Sircilla district on Friday.

The image, created using Artificial Intelligence (AI), claimed that a tiger had entered a Bharat Petroleum outlet in Padmanagar. The post spread rapidly on social media platforms, prompting widespread discussion and concern among residents.

Several people contacted local authorities to verify the claim, fearing a possible wildlife movement into human habitation.

Image circulates widely across district

As the post went viral, residents across towns and villages in the district shared and discussed the image. Many believed the claim to be genuine, leading to anxiety and confusion.

Police said no such incident occurred and confirmed that the image was digitally created.

Sub-Inspector Upendra Chary said police identified some youths from Padmanagar who created and circulated the image as a prank. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against those responsible for spreading false information.

Police also appealed to the public not to forward unverified content on social media and to check facts before sharing posts that could cause panic.
