Raja Singh releases video on Jani Master’s sexual assault case
Hyderabad: Trouble is mounting for the Telugu choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, popularly known as Jani Master in the film industry, as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh has demanded the police to take strongest action against him.
Earlier in the day, Jani Master was arrested by the Cyberabad Special Operation Team (SOT) in Goa. The police are bringing him on a prisoner’s transit (PT) remand to Hyderabad. He will be produced at Upparpally court later in the day and will likely be given in remand tomorrow.
Accusing Jani Master of practicing ‘Love Jihad’, the Goshamahal MLA said the choreographer first trapped the girl under the pretense of giving her work in the film industry and later sexually assaulted her.
Releasing a short video statement on Thursday, Raja Singh demanded the Director General of Police Jitender and Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty to interrogate the choreographer to find the actual truth.
He also said Jani Master was booked under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act by the Narsingi police and now the people want to see tangible progress in the case.
Earlier, the BJP state mahila morcha chief Shilpa Reddy had raised the ‘Love Jihad’ bogey and urged the police to investigate the sexual assault allegations against Jani Master thoroughly and bring him to justice. She had also hinted that some influential film personalities might be attempting to protect the accused.
