KTR’s brother-in-law Raj Pakala booked under the NDPS Act
Hyderabad: BRS working president KTR’s brother-in-law Raj Pakala has been named as the prime accused in a drug case. He was initially booked under excise sections for possessing liquor in quantities above permissible limits without an excise license. He is now booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, according to a First Information Report (FIR) filed by the Mokila police on Sunday.
The FIR stated that on October 26, Mokila police received credible information about a party at Pakala’s farmhouse involving unauthorized foreign liquor and drugs. Based on these inputs, a raid was conducted with the coordination of Narsingi police, the special operations team (SOT), and officials from the Excise department. Upon arrival, the police team found a gathering of 22 men and 16 women, with some of them attempting to flee but being apprehended by officers.
Subsequently, the police conducted drug tests on the guests at the party. Vijay Madduri, the CEO of Fusion AIX Software and an associate of Pakala, tested positive for cocaine. According to police, Madduri disclosed that Pakala had invited him to the party and encouraged him to consume cocaine.
The farmhouse was searched in the presence of mediators, and several items were found, including poker coins (House of Wishes) and sets of playing cards. The excise department also seized three aluminum briefcases containing poker paraphernalia and 17 bottles of unauthorized liquor.
The police have filed an FIR against Raj Pakala under the NDPS Act for his alleged involvement in the drug case. At the same time, an additional case related to liquor violations has also been registered against him. Further investigation is underway.
