Secunderabad: A heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded as a railway employee lost his life while attempting to save his two young daughters from an oncoming train on Sunday. The incident occurred at Gowdavelly railway station. The untimely demise of father and two daughters sent the neighbourhood into shock.

The deceased were identified as T. Krishna,a railway employee and his two daughters including 11-year-old Varshitha and 5-year-old Varini.

In a bid to rescue two daughters, the father also came under the running train leaving all of them dead. According to the railway police at around 5: 30 Pm on Sunday, T. Krishna who was working as a keyman at Gowdavelly Railway station, brought his two daughters along with him for the duty.

A Rayalaseema Express train was approaching the station when the children found themselves in danger. In a desperate bid to save his daughters, Krishna rushed to their aid, but tragically, all three were struck by the train and died on the spot. B. Saieashwar Goud, Inspector of police, Government Railway police(GRP), Secunderabad, said, “The two siblings Varshitha and Varini were playing near the tracks. Meanwhile, Rayalaseema express which was heading towards Nizamabad rammed them. Krishna, who spotted the train coming, tried to rescue his two daughters. However all three of them were run over by the train killing all three on the spot”.

All three dead bodies were shifted to Lalaguda railway hospital for post mortem examination and further investigation is underway.
