Say no to tinted glasses on vehicle: Rachakonda Traffic Police

Hyderabad: To ensure road safety, the Rachakonda Traffic Police conducted a special drive against vehicles with opaque tinted glasses and black films at various locations within its jurisdiction on Monday.
The use of tinted glasses and black films is prohibited in the city and the violators will be fined Rs. 1,000 by the traffic police. The black films obstruct the side and rear views for the drivers and it may also lead to accidents.
The special drive was necessitated by the growing use of black films and illegal use of sirens and pressure horns by vehicle owners, according to Rachakonda Traffic Police. Using tinted glasses or black films beyond permissible limits is a violation and poses security concerns, the police said.
As part of this special drive, challans were issued to violators in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Act. The police urged the vehicle owners to adhere to traffic rules and stay safe on the road.
In 2012, the Supreme Court ordered a complete ban on the use of tinted plastic films and other glass panels of vehicles across the country. The top court directed the police officers to issue challans to violators and remove the black films from vehicles.
