Rachakonda police gears up Lok Sabha elections
Malkajgiri: Over 7000 police force deployed for the upcoming elections and identified 533 critical polling stations under Rachakonda commissionerate limits informed Rachakonda police commissioner Tarun Joshi on Saturday.
About 35,27,441 voters are in the Commissionerate area who are going to exercise their voting in 5 Parliament Constituencies comprising 13 Assembly segments that either fall fully or partly under Rachakonda Commissionerate.
There are 3396 Polling stations and 1590 polling locations in which 533 critical polling Stations and 188 critical locations identified.There are Eight Distribution, Reception, Collection centers and Three Strong rooms and Counting centers. Total 328 routes are in Rachakonda Commissionerate, informed Rachakonda police.
“For conduct of election free and fair manner the following force have been deployed as under commissionerate limits. Around 6000 Rachakonda Police and others enforcement 1063 TSPA Trainees, 50 officials from Prohibition and Excise, 30 officials from Legal Metrology Department and Central Armed police force(CAPF) 12 Coys and TSSP 25.5 Sections were deployed for election duties”, said Rachakonda police commissioner Tarun Joshi during the press briefing regarding the Lok Sabha elections.
Enforcement
Eight Inter district check posts, 29 Flying squads teams(FST)and 25 Static surveillance teams(SST) were functioning in commissionerate to curb inducement, transportation of cash, liquor and drugs.
As of now, 14 cases have been booked relating to Model Code of Conduct. Since the announcement of elections, Rachakonda police have seized 11.9 Crores cash, 12240 Litres of liquor worth Rs 75.78 lakhs, Freebies worth Rs 9.26 lakhs and drugs worth Rs 1.95 crores, informed Racha police commissioner.
In view of Lok Sabha elections under commissionerate limits 806 out of1114 licensed weapons are deposited and remaining are exempted as per the guidelines of ECI. During the period 1036 Non-Bailable warrant (NBWs) have been executed while 4892 persons who are Trouble mongers, Rowdy Sheeters, Election Offenders and Suspects. Further bounded over for keeping good behaviour and not to involve election related disturbance.
During the period 114 flag marches were conducted in various places identified critical criteria and made confidence building measures in the voters for fair and free voting. All the polling stations, particularly Critical Polling stations, have been Gio-tagged in the TSCOP application by an IT core team and 72 Police officers deployed to monitor the election process.
