Rachakonda police issues prohibitory orders ahead of Lok Sabha polls
RangaReddy: Rachakonda Police Commissionerate has issued a series of prohibitory orders for the residents that come under the limits of Ranga Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts, that needs to be followed in the upcoming election season. Police informed that any person violating these orders would be liable for prosecution.
Closure of liquor outlets
In its official order, Rachakonda Police ordered for the closure of all liquor shops, hotels, restaurants, clubs and other establishments selling and serving liquor, situated within the limits of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate. The orders would come into effect from 6:00pm on May 11 to May 13, 6pm.
The order further stated that “Non proprietary clubs, star hotels, restaurants etc., and hotels run by anyone even if they are issued different categories of licences for possession and supply of liquor, shall also not be permitted to serve liquor on these days, in connection with the General Election to Lok Sabha, 2024 to be held on 13.05.2024.”
Any procession is prohibited
It is to be noted that there are prohibitory orders in place against the assembly of persons or processions. These orders would come into effect from 4pm on May 11 to 6:00 am on May 14, 2024.
The orders regarding the same noted that “Cyberabad (Metropolitan Area) Police Act in the limits Rachakonda Police Commissionerate i.e., Ranga- Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Yadadri- Bhuvanagiri Districts regarding Prohibitory orders assembly of persons and any kind of processions including mobile publicity from 16: 00 hrs on 11.05.2024 to 06: 00 hrs of 14.05.2024 ni view of the General Elections to Lok Sabha-2024.”
Not more than five people should be in a place
In order to maintain law and order, the Rachakonda police said that not more than five persons should assemble at a single place in view of elections. This would come into force from 6:00pm on May 11 to 6pm on May 14, 2024.
In connection with this, the order stated that “With a view to maintain public order and peace in the limits of Rachakonda Police Commisionerate, do hereby prohibit assembly of five or more persons within the limits of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate i.e., Ranga Reddy. Medchal-Malkajgiri and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District in connection with the General Elections to Lok Sabha-2024 to be held on 13.05.2024.”
It should also be noted that it does not restrict house to house visits of less than 5 persons, during the period of 48 hours.
