HYDERABAD: The Rachakonda Police Commissionerate has released its Annual Report for 2025, highlighting reductions in key crimes, a rise in convictions, and stronger community-focused policing under the VQT (Visible, Quick, Technology-led) principle.

Covering 5,122 sq. km. and a population of about 64 lakhs, the Commissionerate reported 33,040 cases in 2025, with a disposal rate of 78% (25,643 cases).

Property crimes fell by nearly 15%. Rachakonda Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu attributed this to increased visible policing, including bicycle patrols and the CAR force. Crimes against women, such as dowry deaths, harassment, and rape, declined by 25%, from 1,704 cases in 2024 to 1,194 in 2025. Robbery cases dropped from 118 to 67, and automobile thefts decreased from 1,086 to 876.

The Commissionerate achieved Zero Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) status by executing 4,121 NBWs. There were 144 convictions in contested cases, including 31 life sentences. In a murder case from Addagudur, 17 individuals received life imprisonment. The overall conviction rate rose to 74% because of an effective Court Monitoring Cell.

In narcotics cases, contraband valued at Rs 20.01 crore was seized, resulting in 495 arrests. Major rackets were dismantled, including an interstate child trafficking ring that rescued 16 infants and an illegal kidney transplantation network in Hyderabad hospitals.

More than 2,848 CCTV cameras were integrated into the Command-and-Control system for real-time monitoring. The Cyber Crime wing refunded Rs 40.10 crore to fraud victims and addressed 3,734 reported cyber crimes. Welfare initiatives included “Golden Care” for senior citizens and the Bharosa Centre for victim counseling. A Mega Job Fair for women, organized with the Rachakonda Security Council (RKSC), resulted in 2,323 job placements.

Commissioner of Police G. Sudheer Babu, IPS, stated that the year’s achievements were based on strong enforcement and citizen-focused compassion. He acknowledged the dedication of the force, public cooperation, government support, and the media’s contribution.

The report concludes that Rachakonda’s policing model in 2025 has set a benchmark where success is measured “not merely in cases registered, but in lives protected, confidence restored, and justice delivered.”
