SCR’s temporary halts at Manikgarh aid passengers amid Maharashtra floods
HYDERABAD: South Central Railway (SCR) arranged temporary halts for five trains at Manikgarh Railway Station to facilitate passenger movement after heavy rainfall and flooding disrupted road connectivity in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district.
Continuous rainfall over the past two days severed road links between Rajura and Balharshah, forcing a large number of passengers to depend on rail services for onward travel.
To ease the situation, SCR introduced temporary stoppages for five trains at Manikgarh. The measure enabled more than 400 passengers to continue their journeys to nearby destinations, including Balharshah.
Railway staff ensure smooth passenger movement
Railway personnel at Manikgarh assisted passengers by providing ticketing support, travel guidance and ensuring orderly boarding. Staff also supervised on-ground operations to ensure passenger convenience and safety.
SCR said all necessary arrangements were made at the station to manage the additional passenger movement during the disruption.
