Sindhu married Venkata Sai in an intimate wedding ceremony held at a luxurious resort in Udaipur, Rajasthan on Sunday. The wedding celebrations of two time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu and Venkata Datta Sai, executive director at Posidex Technologies, began with a lively Sangeet ceremony on December 20. Subsequent traditional rituals included Haldi ceremony, Pellikuthuru, Mehendi, and other customs on December 21.

Earlier, the ace shuttler dropped the pictures from her wedding ceremony. She opted for an antique gold hand-woven tissue saree for the D-day. The bridal outfit featured gold and silver stripes with badla and zardozi embroidery. She had paired it with an elegant blouse.

Venkata Datta Sai donned a sherwani paired with a dhoti and stole with intricate thread work exuding a royal look on his wedding. As part of the Telugu wedding tradition, the couple also tied traditional basikalu on their foreheads.

The wedding comes close on the heels of Sindhu’s much-need victory at the Syed Modi International in Lucknow. She ended her Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour drought of over two year by defeating China’s Wu Luo Yu in the finals of Lucknow tournament.
