Only Five days left to avail early bird property tax offer in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has given the early bird offer to those who are looking to get some concession in paying their property tax. Now, there are only five days left for the scheme to end, reminded the corporation on Friday. The offer to avail 5 per cent discount on the property tax is applicable only to those residents who pay the tax before the stipulated date, April 30, 2024.

Ronald Rose, the Commissioner of the GHMC reiterated that those who pay property tax under the early bird scheme would be able to get a discount of 5 percent and there are only five days left for the scheme to come to an end, as the early bird offer will expire on April 30, 2024.

The centres would be open even on Sunday

If you are thinking about a holiday on a Sunday, one need not to worry, as the Citizen Service Centers in your nearby circles and head office would be open and working even on the holiday, for the benefit of citizens, according to the GHMC.

GHMC further appealed to the citizens who are yet to pay the property tax to pay within the due date of early bird and get concession. The bill can be paid to the bill collector and they can get a receipt with a five percent discount.

GHMC floated the early bird offer to the Hyderabadi residents in the beginning of this financial year on April 1, 2014. It should be noted that the early bird offer is applicable to those who are paying the property tax of only this year and not any of the previous year’s arrears. According to the news reports, earlier the GHMC has said that it aims to collect over Rs.1200 crore worth of property tax from among the 19 lakh property assessments through this offer. Last year, the GHMC managed to collect over Rs.787 crores worth of property tax
