Hyderabad readies special teams for President Murmu visit

HYDERABAD: President Droupadi Murmu will stay at Rashtrapati Nilayam from December 17 to 21 as part of her winter retreat, state chief secretary K Ramakrishna Rao said. Officials have begun making detailed arrangements at the residence.
Special teams to tackle animal, insect issues
The chief secretary directed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to deploy dedicated teams to control monkey nuisance around the Nilayam. He also asked officials to make advance arrangements to address honeybee-related issues and to keep a 24×7 snake-catcher team on standby.
CS reviews preparations with senior officials
Rao reviewed the arrangements with senior officials at the state secretariat on Thursday. He told all departments to work in coordination and ensure comprehensive preparations for the President’s stay. Central government departments, state officials and Rashtrapati Nilayam authorities were asked to work jointly.
Security, traffic and emergency systems planned
He instructed the police department to prepare a security and traffic-management plan, and directed the fire department to position adequate staff and fire tenders at the location. The medical and health department was told to keep medical teams on standby.
Civic works to be completed ahead of visit
The Roads and Buildings department was asked to install necessary barricades, execute repairs and complete other civil works. The electricity department was told to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the period.
Director general of police Shivadher Reddy, senior home and R&B secretaries Vikas Raj and CV Anand, and Hyderabad police commissioner VC Sajjanar attended the review meeting.
