Jubilee Hills Police arrest actor Prasad Behra on harassment charges
Hyderabad: Prasad Behra, a popular YouTuber and actor, was arrested on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, by the Jubilee Hills Police following a harassment complaint filed by a woman. The 32-year-old actress, a resident of Hyderabad, accused Prasad Behra of inappropriate behaviour while filming a web series.
The police took Prasad Behra into custody after receiving the complaint and have begun investigating the matter.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the actress detailed multiple incidents of harassment. She stated that she met Prasad Behra 12 years ago while working on a project and later began shooting for the web series Pelivaramandi. During the shoot, she claimed Prasad Behra touched her inappropriately, making her feel uncomfortable. After leaving the series, he apologised several times, but she later returned to work with him on another project, Mechanic, a year later.
The complaint alleges that during the shoot for Mechanic, Prasad Behra’s behaviour remained the same. She claimed he touched her again and fell on her in front of the crew. Feeling scared and embarrassed, she tolerated his actions. On December 11, 2024, while filming at Jubilee Hills, she said Prasad Behra again behaved inappropriately in front of the entire crew. When she confronted him, he dismissed her concerns as a joke, and others on set laughed at her discomfort.
The actress also accused Prasad Behra of using abusive language and mocking her appearance. She alleged that he made age-shaming remarks and suggested she should undergo laser treatment. When she threatened to file a police complaint, Prasad Behra allegedly told her, “Go file a complaint and get lost.”
Sub-Inspector B. Harishwar Reddy of the Jubilee Hills Police registered a case based on the complaint, and the investigation is ongoing.
Prasad Behra is an actor born on January 1, 1995, in Andhra Pradesh. He is best known for his role in the movie Committee Kurrollu and gained further recognition through his performance in the web series Pelivaramandi. Prasad has also appeared in Dil Pasandh, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the digital entertainment industry.
