Prabhas or Allu Arjun: Which actor was searched more on Google in 2024?
Hyderabad: A revealing analysis of Google Trends data for the past twelve months in 2024 shows that actor Allu Arjun has marginally outperformed actor Prabhas in online search popularity. The data shows that Allu Arjun scored 10 points compared to Prabhas, who scored 8 points on the Google Trends scale.
While Prabhas maintained a strong lead in search rankings until November 30, 2024, primarily driven by interest in his films including “Kalki 2898 AD,” the trajectory shifted dramatically following events surrounding Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa: The Rule” release. The unfortunate stampede incident at Sandhya Theatre and Allu Arjun’s subsequent arrest sparked widespread public interest, resulting in a significant surge in search queries.
The search patterns revealed distinct interests for both actors. For Prabhas, users predominantly searched for his film-related content, including queries about “Raaja Sab,” “Fauji,” and “Imanvi.” In contrast, Allu Arjun’s search traffic was largely dominated by queries regarding his arrest and its circumstances.
The geographical spread of these searches encompassed various regions across India, including both Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as well as broader reach in Karnataka, Kerala Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and even remote regions like the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Further searches were also made in Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland, Odisha among other regions in the country.
What is the Allu Arjun controversy?
On December 4th, 2024, his film, Pushpa: The Rule, directed by Sukumar premiered in the Sandhya Theatre at RTC X Roads in Hyderabad. Actor Allu Arjun along with his family and his co-star, Rashmika Mandanna visited the theatre to watch the film along with his fans. However, with the huge crowd, a stampede broke out among fans, which resulted in the death of a 35 year old woman Revathi, and her son Sritej was severely injured. Currently, Sritej is being treated at the KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad. In this issue, actor Allu Arjun was also arrested by the Chikkadpalli police along with the theatre management. Later the actor was released on bail, however, the issue escalated to a different level and took a political turn, when Chief Minister Revanth Reddy commented about the issue in the assembly.
