HYDERABAD: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) will conclude the questioning of the prime accused, Prabhakar Rao, in the phone tapping case on Thursday.

Pen drive emerges as key evidence

Investigators are expected to take custody of a pen drive that has emerged as a crucial piece of evidence and subject it to detailed forensic examination.

The SIT has questioned Prabhakar Rao for the past two weeks and is learnt to have collected material pointing to the alleged involvement of political leaders in the case. Sources said the pen drive is considered central to establishing the sequence of events and links between the accused.

Other accused summoned

After Thursday’s questioning, Prabhakar Rao is scheduled to be released on Friday.

As part of the ongoing probe, the SIT on Thursday summoned Tirupatanna, Bhujanga Rao, Radhakrishna Rao and Praveen Rao to its office for questioning. All of them are accused in the case and are being examined as part of efforts to gather further evidence, officials said.
