Hyderabad: Residents of Nallagandla have expressed concerns over large potholes near GNT Circle, which have been causing frequent accidents and traffic jams, especially during peak hours. Commuters, particularly new ones, are unaware of the potholes, resulting in vehicles skidding and increasing the risk of accidents.

The residents have urged the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), which is responsible for the area, to address the issue urgently to prevent further inconvenience and accidents. They have also raised concerns that the potholes could pose a serious threat to public safety, particularly in causing spinal injuries.

Srikanth Reddy, a local resident, shared his frustration with Hyderabad Mail, saying, “The huge potholes near GNT Circle are causing major traffic disruptions during peak hours. I have reported the issue to the Roads and Buildings department, but the contractor has yet to fix it. While I initially approached the Serilingampally Municipality, they referred me to the Roads and Buildings department, as this road falls under their jurisdiction.”

He also highlighted the frequency of accidents on Tellapur Road, urging the authorities to take swift action. “I request the GHMC and the Roads and Buildings department officials to address this or implement a temporary fix to prevent daily bike skidding and accidents,” Srikanth Reddy added.

Residents are calling for immediate repairs, citing concerns about health risks from the potholes and their potential impact on drivers’ spinal health.
