Ponnam Prabhakar Upset with Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanotsava

Ameerpet: Hyderabad in-charge minister Ponnam Prabhakar seen visibly angry at the Hyderabad District collector Anudeep Durishetty due to the inconvenience caused by the huge crowds in the premises of Balkampet Yellamma temple on Tuesday.

Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar along with GHMC mayor Gadwal Vijaya Lakshmi visited the temple in view of Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanotsavam(marriage ceremony) on Tuesday.

In the video which went viral on social media Ponnam Prabhakar was heard complaining about the crowd control measures he said, “We have been dead, If the situation is like this for us, what about the common people”. Meanwhile GHMC mayor Gadwal Vijaya Lakshmi heard complaining about her hand being twisted.

Ironically a few days ago Hyderabad in-charge minister Ponnam Prabhakar visited the temple and held a review meeting on the arrangements for Ammavari Kalyanotsavam in the wake of Ashadam assured that all measures are being taken to ensure that devotees do not face any difficulties. The government has taken all measures in the wake of the Bonalu festivities in the month of Ashadham. Last year, Rs 15 crore was allocated for Bonalu but this year the government has allocated Rs 20 crore for the arrangements.

Meanwhile Hyderabad traffic police also issued a traffic advisory in view of Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanam at Yellamma Pochamma Devasthanam, Balkampet from Monday to Wednesday

Large number of devotees will attend the Kalyanotsavam on Tuesday and Rathotsavam on Wednesday. Moderate traffic congestion is expected due to devotees and their vehicles on the streets and in and around Yellamma Temple, Balkampet.

Hyderabad police have advised the devotees to park their vehicles at the designated parking places only in an orderly fashion. The commuters are also requested to take alternative routes to reach their destinations to avoid traffic congestion. In case of any emergency, the commuters are requested to call our traffic helpline 9010203626 for travel assistance. All devotees and commuters are requested to follow this traffic advisory and cooperate with the Hyderabad Traffic Police.
