Minister Ponnam Prabhakar slams Kishan Reddy over lack of development in Hyderabad remark

Hyderabad: Hyderabad incharge minister Ponnam Prabhakar lamented against Secunderabad MP and union minister G Kishan Reddy’s criticisms that Congress Government in Telangana seemed to lack a “proper perspective plan” to develop the capital region on Thursday.
Taking a dig at G Kishan reddy’s criticism, Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar questioned Reddy, “As a Member of Parliament and the Union Tourism Minister, what have you brought to Hyderabad in the last 5 years from the central departments of Heritage, Tourism, and Archaeology? Did you bring even a single rupee. Hyderabad was not made a smart city by the central government. Not a single rupee came from the AMRUT scheme.Have you brought any funds beyond the 15th Finance Commission funds allocated to local bodies as per the 73rd and 74th Amendments of the Constitution?”
Prabhakar said as GHMC elections are nearing Kishan Redy is making comments like this for political gains. He further questioned, “The Congress party is questioning what you, as a Union Minister, have done for the people of Hyderabad and for the city’s development. There are many archaeological sites like Charminar and Golconda. Did you bring any special funds for them?”
Condemning Kishan Reddy’s words that tarnish Hyderabad’s image he dared, “If you are capable, help in the development of Hyderabad. We are ready to discuss the problems here beyond politics as the in-charge minister. Bring a special package to further develop hospitals like Gandhi, Osmania, and NIMS to provide better services. Bring special funds for Hyderabad”.
“After we came to power, we requested funds from the central government many times. We asked you, as a Union Minister, to come and plan for the development of the state by sitting with the state cabinet many times. Even when we respectfully met you to request cooperation for the development of Hyderabad as an in-charge minister of Hyderabad, we received no support,” added Prabhakar.
