Ponnam Prabhakar: No misconceptions about Household Survey

Hyderabad: Minister for BC Welfare, Transport and Hyderabad District In-charge Ponnam Prabhakar reiterated that the state government’s household survey from November 6 to 30 will set a national example and that people shouldn’t have misconceptions about this survey. The survey aims to collect detailed social, economic, educational, employment, political, and caste status information of families across the state.

BC Welfare and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar launched the ambitious project at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) headquarters on Wednesday, accompanied by GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi and Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durisetty.

GHMC kicks off Comprehensive Household Survey, to cover over 29 lakh homes

In Greater Hyderabad, 20,920 enumerators and 1,728 supervisors have been appointed to survey 29,58,277 houses. The survey will start with marking houses according to enumerator blocks and placing stickers, followed by detailed data collection starting November 9.

Minister Prabhakar emphasized that the survey’s findings would ensure eligible beneficiaries receive government schemes effectively. He urged opposition parties not to mislead people and warned of legal action against those obstructing the survey process.

Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi requested full cooperation from twin city residents and advised enumerators to patiently address people’s concerns during the survey. She called for support from Residential Welfare Associations, NGOs, and public representatives.

The Telangana government has initiated a comprehensive household survey across the state from November 6 to 30, 2024.
