Ponguleti launches Indiramma Towers helpline
Telangana: The Telangana government has launched a dedicated call centre to assist applicants under the Indiramma Towers housing scheme in the CURE area of Hyderabad. Revenue, Housing, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy inaugurated the helpline at the Telangana Housing Board office on Saturday.
The minister said the initiative aims to provide official information on eligibility, applications, payments, allotment and other aspects of the scheme, ensuring that applicants are not misled by rumours or middlemen.
Call centre to offer support in four languages
Applicants can contact the helpline on 040-24603572 between 9 am and 6 pm to seek official guidance. The call centre will provide assistance in Telugu, Hindi, English and Urdu.
Ponguleti said the Congress government, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, has launched the Indiramma housing programme to provide dignified housing for poor and lower middle-class families in Hyderabad’s CURE region.
The minister said the government has begun the first phase of constructing 7,680 flats across 16 Assembly constituencies as part of its target to build one lakh houses in the CURE area. Applicants should apply only in the Assembly constituency where they reside. Applications can be submitted through MeeSeva centres, the online portal or WhatsApp, he added.
Aadhaar alone needed for application
Ponguleti said applicants are required to provide only their Aadhaar number while submitting applications. Income, caste and salary certificates need not be uploaded at this stage and can be submitted during the allotment process.
He said applicants must have lived in the CURE area for at least 10 years and neither the applicant nor any family member should own a house, flat or plot within the Outer Ring Road or the CURE limits. Only one application from each family will be accepted and only one flat will be allotted.
The minister said the scheme is meant for low-income families residing in the Hyderabad CURE area with an annual family income of up to ₹6 lakh.
Applications will undergo digital scrutiny, field verification and comprehensive validation. If eligible applications exceed the number of available flats, allotments will be made through a transparent lottery system.
Applicants must pay the ₹10,000 earnest money deposit (EMD) only through UPI or net banking. If an applicant is not allotted a flat, the amount will be refunded to the same bank account from which the payment was made.
The minister advised applicants to retain their MeeSeva receipt, payment receipt, application number and active mobile number until the verification, allotment and refund process is completed.
The proposed flats will have one bedroom, a hall and a kitchen (1BHK) with a built-up area of about 525 sq ft.
Ponguleti said each flat is estimated to cost ₹40 lakh to ₹60 lakh. The government will provide a ₹5 lakh subsidy and register an undivided land share of 20–25 square yards in the beneficiary’s name. The beneficiary will be required to contribute ₹6 lakh, he said.
Housing Department Special Chief Secretary V.P. Gautam and Housing Board Chief Executive Officer Ramana Reddy were among those present.
