Police Job Aspirants Protest At Dilsukhnagar Metro Station

Hyderabad: Scores of police job aspirants staged a massive flash protest at Dilsukhnagar metro station on Tuesday. The police job aspirants said the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government came to power promising two lakh jobs but it has failed to deliver on its commitment.

Many unemployed youth who are preparing for police recruitment exams have expressed their distress over the prolonged delay in the recruitment process. They were seen holding placards highlighting their demands.

The previous government issued job notifications in 2016, 2018, and 2022 and each time it filled around 15,000 police jobs. However, it has now been three years without a new notification, the job aspirants remarked.

The protesters are demanding an immediate recruitment notification and also an increase in the upper age limit to 35 years. They have warned of intensifying their agitation if the government fails to address their concerns soon.

Unemployed police aspirants Akash, Shankar, Kalyan, Vamsi, and Naveen have also demanded the immediate removal of Andhra Pradesh-origin Police Recruitment Board Chairman VV Srinivasa Rao.

Last year, the protesters had staged a similar protest in the locality demanding scrapping of GO 46 as it would adversely impact the unemployed youths from rural areas in police recruitments. They had alleged that through this government order the state government allotted 53 percent jobs only to Hyderabad youths.
