Constable saves electrocuted lineman with CPR in Karwan

HYDERABAD: A police constable on patrol saved the life of an assistant lineman who suffered a severe electric shock in Karwan on Thursday.
Raju Naik, 44, an assistant lineman working near Kummarwadi Hanuman Temple, came into contact with a live high-tension wire while carrying out repair works. He fell unconscious from an electric pole after the shock.
B Suresh, a constable attached to Tappachabutra police station, was on Blue Colt patrolling duty nearby when the incident occurred. He rushed to the spot and found the victim unresponsive and not breathing.
The constable administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), helping restore the victim’s pulse before he was shifted to hospital for treatment.
Doctors said Naik was stable and out of danger. They added that the constable’s immediate response during the critical golden hour helped save his life.
